Ron Morris devoted a recent column in “The State” (Yes, I’m disappointed to learn that it had nothing to do with the comedy troupe as well) to the issue of South Carolina’s flag, and how it costs the state money. Namely, because the NCAA will not schedule a tournament there.

It’s an interesting article, as it strips the issue of the chimeras of “heritage” or “racism” and boils it down to the purely economic effects of having a state flag that many people in the rest of the country find offensive.

Let’s look at some of the rational and reasoned responses to the article:

As for the flag, it is off the statehouse and hanging at a memorial. As soon as SC succumbs to the demands of this bigoted NAACP and removes the flag to the museum THEN they will begin the harassment of making us take the memorials down as well. I guess in its place will be yet another MLK statue, after of course the city is strongarmed into renaming Gervais MLK Blvd. Here is what I have to say. Recently, Politico writer Ben Smith posted about the efforts of freshman Congressperson Bill Posey (R-FL) to amend the Federal Election Campaign act so that all candidates for President must provide a birth certificate in order to run. I have absolutely no idea what kind of point Posey is trying to make, but then again, I don’t have trouble understanding the difference between a “birth certificate” and a “certification of live birth.”

Let’s see how Posey’s intended audience reacted to Smith’s post:

If you are not, then preserve your honor, resign and let someone who cares more about us than that do what is right. I again respectfully implore you to act within your powers and help us. One of the best signs of how deep Obama Derangement Syndrome is in certain segments of the population is how strongly they over-react to innocuous stories about the President and his family.  Take, for example, this recent story about Michelle Obama’s plan to plant a vegetable garden on the White House grounds:

and wouldn’t that will be more tax money spent. Who will pay for the maintenance of the garden, the water, seeds, etc….

Doesn’t the White House trust our food supply? Maybe if we all had our own garden we wouldn’t need this massive budget Obama is asking for as well as $11 Trillion dept he keeps growing. Another example he set was accepting over $100,000 from our friends at AIG.

Well he shouldn’t trust the food supply, with so much chemicals used and the soil depleted by the farming methods used. Not that he objects – he appointed the Governor from Monsanto as his Agriculture Secretary.

Is it safe to plant food on the White House lawn? My guess is they’ve been using chemicals for decades on it. How much poison is in the soil that the plants will uptake? Will Sasha and Malia be poisoned by food from the White House garden? Stay tuned.



Black Friday: “ugly americans at their worst.”

With the traditional “Black Friday” shopping frenzy comes news of tragedy at a Long Island Wal-Mart, as a store employee was trampled to death and a pregnant woman was injured by crowds as the store opened at 5 a.m. The commenters on the NY Daily News site, needing to fill in their day off from work/school/living under a bridge and charging people their first born in order to pass, have plenty of time to weigh in on the awful incident (thirteen pages, as of this writing)-

A few stampeeded Wal Mart shoppers is a small price to pay for a cleaner gene pool. After being stomped, The crush-ees raised the average IQ level in both the store and Long Island in general.

The tragic event al Wal-Mart was unnecessary. I was there about 10-15 ft from the crime scene when it took place. Firstly, the pregnant woman shouldn’t had been there been pregnant and in that freezing cold. It is simple common sense. And regarding the employee who got ran over and lost his life, I would blame the Wal-Mart staff for lack of proper planning and administration of a black friday event. While he was of the floor trying to control the crowd, there was four others employees standing on the top of three vending machines taking photos of the crowd from behing him. WHY didn’t they went down and help him get the job done? People out there just can’t blame the crowd, the store plays a big role in this also because other store like best buy and circuit city were in the same situation and they were able to control the crowd.

I saw a man on the crosstown the other day complaining to someone on his cellphone about all the people talking on their cellphones, on the bus. Two weeks ago I was in Brooklyn visiting my mother and noticed her TV wasn’t working right, so I ran across the street to a electronics store to get a new one and a car had hit and killed a heavy set woman who lay in the street face down with her shoes still standing where she was hit. As I went to see if I could be of assistance I heard others commenting on how fat she was. The sickness and the stupidity go far beyond the internet, it is now a part of everyday life. Welcome to the new world order, I hope you like it here.

Get used to this folks. These are the kind of people that liberalism has created. After four years of Obama and the food , power shortages, and gas shortages that will be engineered by the marxists in order to take down this country, this kind of thing will become routine. These people were mostly black welfare recipients with an entitlement mentality. They are humans who have been bred to be animals. With Obama they think they will be arriving in the promised land . When they realize there will be less of everything for everyone they will be angry, and think they have a right to take what they’ve been told is owed to them, although nobody ever owed them anything. Seriously, is anyone else getting tired of EVERYTHING being racist? Why is it that we can’t poke fun at stereotypes? Nobody called them ricers or chinks or japs or zipper-heads or anything, seriously, can we give it a rest?

As far as I’m concerned, unless you can prove actual intent in terms of someone being racist, then just let it slide, huh? Take it from a white guy whose race is almost constantly under attack, sometimes you just gotta let it slide, and sometimes, well… sometimes the joke is ACTUALLY funny!

Man, those white people sure do have it rough, don’t they?

Michelle Malkin is angry. Yes, I know, that’s pretty much her default state, but now she’s angry about someone else being angry. Specifically, she’s upset that former NAACP chairman Myrlie Evers-Williams was critical of the New Yorker’s recent “Obama as terrorist” cartoon. How the woman who got Dunkin’ Donuts to pull an ad campaign because she didn’t like the pattern on Rachel Ray’s scarf can accuse anyone else of needing to “grow a brain” is a philosophical question not appropriate to discuss here, because the real gem of a comment comes from one of Michell’s faithful followers, one “emjem24″:

I wanted to mention what a shame that people like this woman keep bringing up “lynching” and in the same way, do a disservice to the black community.

Many blacks paid for HER civil rights with their lives. Does she get that or are their deaths just so much more politically expedient for the joy of using that word like some self-fulfilling prophecy or something?

I wonder if all the family members of those who’ve been lynched would accept such “death politicization?” It’s really a shame.

One more thing, it must be so “hard” to be black like her. Accuse others of “lynching” when they criticize you or even immortalize you in a cartoon.

Oye Vay, Ms. Evers-Williams needs a new schtick ’cause this one’s gettin’ real old. Do you think she cares about the impact of illegal immigration in the black community?

Yes, that’s right. The widow of slain civil rights activist Medgar Evers was just accused of not only being stupid, but of not appreciating the sacrifices those in the civil rights movement have paid.

Barack Obama is coming to Indianapolis today to do the usual pulpit-slapping and dramatic pausing that has made him a leader to so many Democrats. Of course, not everyone is very impressed by this, including one gentleman who wants to refer to himself as “The fireman”

I don’t understand how the American people can elect a man of Islamic descent. All the trouble we are having is due to the Islamic people and we (some people) are trying to get one of the elected as president. His name should have caused lights to go off Barack Husain Obama, what American heritage is that. Was he named after Sadam Husain? It don’t make since to me how this can be happening to our wonderful country. Just like immagration and all the illegals here flying the flag of Mexico in their yard and on the vehicles. It should be against the law. Theodore Roosevelt in 1907 said “There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who is an AMERICAN, but something else also, isn’t an AMERICAN at all. We have room for but one flag, the AMERICAN flag…We have room for but one language here,and that is the English language…And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the AMERICAN people.”
We need to get back to this way of thinking and stop being afraid of stepping on someones toes. This is our country, we should fight to keep it ours.

Apparently the cognitive dissonance between the spelling here and the Teddy Roosevelt quote is invisible to the St. Louis resident.
