So, we all know about the work-print of Wolverine being leaked by now. But what did those stalwart and upright folks who regularly read Ain’t It Cool News think of the leak and the film?

if you want to help the Hollywood industry lay offs, you’ve got to point the finger at the over indulgent pay checks at the top, not piracy…the way bottom.

I tell you man, whenever there’s an Econ crisis, the little man and the little’er man get it point blank while all the fat cats keep what they always had and, in fact, usually end up with more.

Sorry, busting a little early 20th century soap box in Washington square style.

Solidarity people, Solidarity.

Maybe if we throw tea bags at the heads of the major studios, movie theatre ticket prices will go down?

this movie sucks!

Cogent and reasoned film criticism from “geek molester” there, folks.

Now we have a reason to blame for our movie’s shitty under-performance. (‘Cause, God knows, no one’s gonna let us blame Hugh Jackman’s jazz-hands.)

Gay-baiting? At Ain’t-It-Cool-News? I am shocked!

but don’t worry, communism/fascism will save us just ask your Lord Obama

I…what?

This movie will suck, Almost as much as X-men 3, and now when it doesn’t get the numbers ($$) they want, they will blame torrents and petition Senators to kill more of the freedoms of privacy that we enjoy on the internet. I’m not saying that piracy is even remotely OK. But there are many benefits to things like newsgroups, file sharing, ect. that we will dearly miss when Hollywood corporate money talks Washington into taking it away. That is why the Wolverine leak is bad. I know filmmakers and musicians that put their art on torrents themselves (mdotstrange, Giuseppe Andrews, ect) because they want to reach people and can’t get they’re movies distributed because of the way Hollywood bullies the distribution process. I’m not happy at all that this film was leaked and I will refrain from watching a workprint, but I saw that lame ass trailer and I’m tried of watching butchered stories that I’ve known by heart for over a decade. Also, I’ve grown out of enjoying paying to sit in a cramped theater, overhearing conversations through movies, shifting around to let drunks go take a piss, and smelling your farts. I’ll watch this when it hits video, what can this film possibly enlighten me about Wolverine? I’ve read those comics since I was like 6 years old, and the movie will obviously be a let down. So far this year my favorite film has been Coraline in 3D. It was like watching a living diorama. Henry Selick is a visionary, while Gavin Hood (the director of Wolverine) directed Kickboxer 5 and an episode of Stargate SG1.

“It was like watching a living diorama.” That feels like an important insight into the nerd mindset right there, to be honest.

In a restaurant…you eat dinner before you pay. The unspoken rule is this…if you get served crappy food, there is a good chance you won’t have to pay, provided you complained from the first few bites, at the very least you’ll get a new plate.

But the way Hollywood sets this up…you pay before you take the first bite…hell, you pay based upon 30 seconds of a 2 hour movie and the pompous ramblings of what are usually some bought and paid for “critics”, then 20 minutes into what turns out to be shit…they typically won’t refund your $ if you walk out.

Oh…you can demand your money back…but it isn’t often they will give it too you…Nope….you pay up front..and when the movie sucks you don’t have much recourse.

The Box office should be at the exit…if you leave before the half way point because it sucks ass..no charge.

Why this rant here? because the way I see it Hollywood owes me at least one pirated movie per year…Fuck, they owe me three for Cloverfield alone…one to pay me back for the money I wasted watching it…1 more awarded for damages for the 80 mintes I’ll never get back, and one more for pain and suffering.

if you posted this: “there are these pesky little things called talkbacks” and this : “Then I floated the idea of banning anyone who expressed an opinion based on the workprint,” What kind of nazi horse-shit is that? Without the talkbacks, this site doesn’t exist. Many of your talkbackers are profoundly more entertaining and intelligent than yourself or anyone else employed by AICN. Do you realize how much you completely suck as a (so called) journalist right now? You can’t retract this shit. But you should apologize. And like I said Before, this movie will suck. The leak will give mediocre filmmakers a scapegoat for lousy returns in the third week. Piracy can’t be good for any industry, but good product sells itself (The Dark Knight). Also what pirate do you know that doesn’t also have a huge collection of legitimate dvds, games, and music? The pirate’s appetite is insatiable, they can’t collect enough.

Truly, AICN Talk-Backers are the real heroes of the internet…

Fox better appologize to deadpooland all the fans that almost paid hard earned money to get fucked. Imagine a rape victim getting a bill, thats how i would have felt. Now i know its not “done” yet so maybe the final will be better. it would have been a better movie had they not crammed deadpool in it killing him in the process. THIS IS SPIDERMAN 3 ALL OVER AGAIN.

Ah, yes, I was wondering when we would start to see inappropriate “rape” metaphors regarding Deadpool and this film.

Wolverine versus the Hand and maybe toss in a Silver Samurai cameo. make it a story about Yakuza, and the warrior’s code, and his love interest with Yuriko as Lady Deathstrike, and maybe toss in a Mojo cameo when she gets he big claws.

Yes, because nerd-bait like that is certainly the way to get the 99.998% of the population that didn’t read X-Men comics in the 90s into theaters.

poor ryan reynolds he channelled wade wilson when he was allowed to. I think ill just send him my 8 bucks instead. he earned it. And it looks like when jackman said he really cared about the fans he was refering to his fans and not the comics fans. Please oh please let the finished product be an improvement. Wolverine and Sabertooth had a tender moment together WTF. Why not just make them fuck because that would be just as beleivable. Its akin to having Batman and Joker shake hands and say “ill always be there for you bro”.

Remember when the Watchmen lawsuit was in full swing, remember BOYCOTT ROTHMAN AND FOX MOVIES, remember DON’T GO SEE WOLVERINE, FUCK FOX? Well, boys and girls, now you CAN fuck with Fox and Rothman. Fuck them if they lose money. If the current econom ic crisis should be teching us anything it’s that MONEY IS NOTHING BUT A METHOD OF ENSLAVEMENT. A penny is worth nothing these days, and a hundred times nothing is still nothing, so what’s a dollar worth? When are we going to wake up and realize that without money we could still live, work, create, and be kind to one another and grow as a culture, just like Harry fantasized about in his Marley and Me essay. We can achieve the Star Trek ideal IF WE JUST GOT RID OF FUCKING MONEY!

Uh…huh.

I’m downloading this piece of shit the minute I get home Then open up my computer, shit inside of it, and wait for the FBI to come bursting through my door, so when they crack open my computer and smell the freshly diarrhea-sprayed hard drive, they’ll instantly know which movie I illegally downloaded.

If I paid to see this fucking turd of a movie, and it fucking sucks fuckin’ass balls, then I AM THE ONE who was fucking robbed. So I’ll download anything I fucking want.

I have been coming to this site for years. I have been a socially constructed labialised fan boy ever since my parents fell into the marketing scheme of the late 90s known as the return of Star Wars. Back then, my parents would buy me all those Kenner action figures with what money they could muster up, ever since I was hooked on the movie marketing machine. .. Oh how the internet really picked up in anticipation for the Star Wars prequel known as the Phantom Menace. It was a real innocent time, before the dark side consumed all, so to speak. I truth I am not sure how I found Aint It Cool News. But once I did I would come here almost every day and read what material they could dig up. Us fans wanted something so bad, we could taste it, and we the consumers needed to know what are dreams would be like. And as we eventually found out, our dreams never even materialized. Time went by, most of the population of this site had to go to college, break up with girlfriends, watch their parents grow older. The same people who ran the site had to do the same. As the internet has changed everything it now must be the same. There is no room for sharing, trading, or getting anything for free in the simulated world in which we now live. The internet it abstract, it is lucid, but like everything else in your feeble lives it is now officially owned. How ironic it truly is that this occurred on April fools day. While the Billionaires are fighting Pirate Bay in world court, Hulu is advertising on your TV set. Free programming for all, brought to you by NBC, ABC, FOX, and the Federal C C. I am not sure. I know Wolverine is only one shameless attempt and making money, much like Marvel itself. It’s a system of deceit, assimilation, and socialization. And while most suffer in this country because of credit card bills, medical bills, and starvation the corporations (S) morally suffocate us with their hypocrisy of dare I say, a juvenile plethora of bullshit. Were not children anymore, don’t let them talk to you like children. This site is over. It has officially been consumed by everything you hate. We have made them rich, fat, and allowed their terrible uneducated babble filter the very cyberspace ways that were free from such a physical tyranny. Much like face book, My Space, and Amazon ( most likely goggle) Aint It super Cool high five News is a marketing contraption for the brainwashing elite. Its over here… Move on if you are a fan… The people who run this site should be ashamed of themselves. Thank you for the years, there are many good people on these boards, much like there is throughout America. But this is a day when a new site should be started by fans who hold free speech as well their personal freedom the foremost priority in their short lives. First that letter from the home schooled writer of the Watchmen movie ( how did that blue tiger get formed by the way?) and now this “obey the man talk”. Its about time, put these morally condemning hypocritical assholes out of business. Do it for America. America fuck ya! Sincerely A middle class fan… …

A young man in Portland went to a late showing of Watchmen Sunday night and, about halfway through the film, committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. A horrible tragedy, one which will be treated with the utmost delicacy and respect by the readers at KTMR.com, of course.

So sad, now he will never know how the movie ends.

Oh, never mind. Let’s get this over with-

Fourth months into Obama’s administration and there are no more people who have died in mass murder-suicides than any other President within an 8 year period. You’ll be seeing a lot more stories like this.

“You’ll be seeing a lot more stories like this. ” We can only hope so. Time to thin the herd. Social Darwinism.

Huh. This turned ugly quick. I feel bad for the kid. But really it was a crappy anti american, and anti religious movie. It tried very hard to be deep but in the end it seemed like endless complaining , with a hopelessness that really was unecessary. In my opinion of course. I like movies that promote strength instead of despair.

Generally, I’ve found that the people who didn’t like this movie weren’t smart enough to follow its storyline. (This statement is in no way a comment on the tragedy which is the subject of this news story.)

PFHarlock: “Generally, I’ve found that the people who didn’t like this movie weren’t smart enough to follow its storyline” Wow, I can’t believe you actually admit to liking that movie in public. I think I’d look for a new pool of friends too, even Stan Lee distanced himself from that movie. As far as following the storyline I guess I was distracted by the jiggling tiny blue penis or the anti-Republican, anti-human anti-woman anti-American pro-homosexual nihilist propaganda and special effects-or did you think that was part of the storyline too?

Why would Stan Lee even… wha?

I didn’t think the movie Watchmen was that bad. Now if it had been a Michael Moore movie I could understand somebody shooting them self, just to end the pain of having to sit through the whole movie..

Midwest24, stories like Watchmen are cautionary tales. They detail possible negative societal developments in order that they they can be better understood and avoided. Throughout history, cautionary tales have played an important role, George Orwell’s “1984″ being a prime example.

I want to applaud this young man. FINALLY we hear about a psycopath who actually has a set. Here lately these nut cases seem to go in and kill a dozen people before they do what they actually came to do; kill themselves. At least this kid was not a coward. He reversed the order and killed himself first. If you want to take your own life I really could care less. But please do it before you consider taking any innocent life. I promise, I will blog and chat about what a hero you are.

Okay – is there anything that isn’t some horrible discussion/riff on the film’s quality or mocking the deceased?

KMTR, so, are you going to deliver or what? you guys are coming off real semi-pro leaving this blurb out there for 9 hours instead sniffing around for the story behind the story to offer some form of UPDATE. just real semi-pro.

Internet, I hate you. All of you.

Monday night, a group of fans gathered in Austin, Texas for a showing of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, with a supposed ten-minute preview of J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Trek film and a brief discussion with the writers. What they got instead was a surprise appearance by Leonard Nimoy and a screening of the entire film, in advance of its “World Premiere” Tuesday night in Australia.

A fun night for a group of dedicated fans, and preliminary impressions over at TrekMovie.com are that a good time was had by all. In fact, the vast majority of responses over there are of the “Oh, you lucky bastards” sort, which is understandable. But, these are, at their hearts, nerds commenting anonymously on the internet, so by sheer mathematics, some will be unhappy. The added factor of Star Trek makes whatever graphing curve doodad you’d use to track this approach zero with its certainty. (That’s a math thing, right? I work in media relations, so I never have to do numbers work.)

Some are skeptical at the positive reviews, including one Mr. (I assume) “Harry Ballz”-

“after the event, the audience reaction was positive”

A crowd who loves Star Trek comes out to watch TWOK and, being treated to the world premiere of the new movie, the general reaction is “positive”? That’s it? After all this waiting and speculation, this is the initial review?

When Nimoy asked, “wouldn’t you rather see the new movie?”, the “crowd went wild”!!!

If you told me the crowd went wild AFTER seeing the movie, that would be good. To hear that the crowd feedback after seeing the movie was “positive”…..how underwhelming!!

We may be in trouble, folks!

you share my thoughts. That small paragraph lacked luster. This isnt exactly a whole hearted outpouring of joy and fantasticness! for the first time……i’m worried.

not even a “VERY positive”?

Seems silly. They kept this thing under such tight wraps for such a long time and now they just show the whole thing a month early. Might as well have released it at Christmas — I don’t get that at all.

Mr. Ballz again-

Notice they say, “the crowd applauded at the introduction to each character”, but NO mention of any applause when the movie ended?

Uh, oh……….

Oh, let’s get someone in here who can lighten things up a bi-

Human nature is present everywhere yet we are so blind to it.

What?

How am I going to stay spoiler free for a friggin month???!!!

I would guess by somehow not reading reviews that contain important plot details.

I find that really poor, they promised the premiere to Sydney and then other people see it first. There are people who are paying good money to see the world premiere that have just been had.

Ha-ha! Boo-hoo, you kangaroo-mutton-eating-boomerang-digeridoo-barbie-shrimpers! Suck it!

Shit. Mark your calendars guys. This is a day to remember. :) ))))))))))))

Yes, because there was a horrible 6.3 magnitude earthquake in Italy.

as we speak i just saw the Erin Esurance Star Trek preview during the late late show with craig furgeson

Why, that’s the next best thing!

Does it feel like sacriledge to prefer a film with the new cast over the original cast who made the roles?

sac·ri·lege
1 : a technical and not necessarily intrinsically outrageous violation (as improper reception of a sacrament) of what is sacred because consecrated to God
2 : gross irreverence toward a hallowed person, place, or thing

So, I guess I’d go with “not really.”

# 1: Biggest surprise in movie history? No.

The Gone with the Wind producers pulled almost the same trick with an audience in 1939.

Right- they were going to do it during a screening of Gone With The Wind II: The Wrath Of Andrew Sherman.

All that freshness the reviewers are so happy about… did that really need a mirror universe reboot prequel? Why couldn’t they get that freshness with most beautiful visuals and fast pace and action and fun and stuff… why couldn’t they do this in a proper sequel?

And I strongly believe a TNG era movie with that budget and vision would have rocked the house just as strong, or even stronger.

And the sets could have been extra-beige with that money!

I have a question for someone who has seen the film: what is the chemistry like between Pine and Quinto?

Hey- someone’s sharpening their slash-writing pencils!

Anyway- the movie’s out in a month or so and everyone can make their judgments then.

Some, however, are already looking toward the future-

Tom Welling For Superman – April 7, 2009

I hope the shat is in the sequel

As do we all, sir. As do we all.

Ron Morris devoted a recent column in “The State” (Yes, I’m disappointed to learn that it had nothing to do with the comedy troupe as well) to the issue of South Carolina’s flag, and how it costs the state money. Namely, because the NCAA will not schedule a tournament there.

It’s an interesting article, as it strips the issue of the chimeras of “heritage” or “racism” and boils it down to the purely economic effects of having a state flag that many people in the rest of the country find offensive.

Let’s look at some of the rational and reasoned responses to the article:

As for the flag, it is off the statehouse and hanging at a memorial. As soon as SC succumbs to the demands of this bigoted NAACP and removes the flag to the museum THEN they will begin the harassment of making us take the memorials down as well. I guess in its place will be yet another MLK statue, after of course the city is strongarmed into renaming Gervais MLK Blvd. Here is what I have to say. NAACP AND BLACK PEOPLE MOVE ON TO MORE IMPORTANT THINGS THAT WILLWILLWILLWILL ADVANCE YOUR PEOPLE…as in N__A__A__C__P and forgot about a danged flag that hangs on a memorial. Ron Morris, please hurry up and get your pink slip like so many papers are giving out these days. Funny how you leftwing nut jobs blame the papers decline on anything except the fact that you are all whacko hacks, non mainstream and write with agendas instead of JUST THE FACTS PLEASE.

It is displayed at a MEMORIAL for God’s sake. A tribute to the thousands of South Carolinians that died in that war. It is not a %$%#^# symbol for segments of society to get their panties in a wad. If the next “offensive” thing becomes the Bible are you going to relegate that to museums also?

This state has many problems but the flag is not the issue. Why concentrate on the flag??? Take that time and work on the teen pregnacy, the sorry education system, and the high crime rate. Everything is racism now days and I’m tired of hearing it. Racsim and discrimination is an excuse for not wanting to take responsibilty for your own actions. The flag is just an excuse for not dealing with real problems. The racist love to talk about the flag instead of looking in the mirror. You’re playing the same old song and no one listens anymore. I listen because I enjoy a good laugh from those who want to blame everyone else for their problems. If you don’t believe me, listen to Clyburn, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and that fine organization, the NAACP. It’s always the same old song and dance.

Flying the flag costs nothing ! The hateful reaction to it by others is what does. This reaction is just a part of the “affirmative action” adopted by a large part of the country, which has culminated in the election of a president whose great ambition is to destroy the country and rebuild it as a leftist paradise with total domination by the government. Of course any symbol of resistance to government is anathema to this mob. Well, the Confederates of South Carolina set an example of valor, determination and patriotism which we find very little of in these terrible times, and the last refuge of loyalty to the Founders’ original intent is the conservatives of the South. We only hate those who use their freedom to deprive others of theirs.

Three pages of comments before we get to some variation of “it’s President Obama’s fault.” Hey, maybe we can overcome!

I know people like you Ron…….You’d sell your soul for 30 peices of silver. You just don’t get it. You’re just like all the people lining up at the federal trough to get their daily ration of slop. Take your basketball and all your ncaa sanctioned crap and leave SC. I was born here and have lived here for over 60 years and plan to die here. Trust me, we’ll get by without you or your sports.

I can honestly say that this is the first time I’ve ever seen a sports columnist compared to Judas.

(I’ve seen Howard Cosell compared to Pilate, but that’s completely different.)

The NCAA is an arm of the NAACP. It is a politically correct group run by a bunch of liberals. Unfortunately, they run college athletics.

I hate basketball anyway and Ron Morris, your an idiot! You just love to stir up trouble don’t you? Please God…I hope to see him walk into the resturant where I work just so I can do unmentionable, vile things to his food!

All class, these people.

Thats just a lot of bunk! You better be more concerned about foreigners buying up those empty homes that the middle class has lost. Stop trying to stirrup junk between our citizens and find real stories to write about or get out of the business. It sounds like the NAACP’s agenda. They keep things stirred up because that is how they get paid.

ABE LINCOLN WAS THE FIRST WORSE PRESIDENT,HOOVER,LBJ,JIMMY CARTER RESPECTIVELY, OBAMA APPEARS TO BE NEXT. BUT WORSE, NOW I CAN’T GO TO ANY MORE BASKETBALL GAMES BECOUSE OF THAT FLAG. DANGIT!

next the NAACP will want to change the name of the sport to “AFRIKAN HANDBALL”……

Seriously? And you wonder why the rest of the world thinks South Carolina is a racist back-water…

OK, Let’s say I agree with Ron and the NCAA.

With that: Will the NCAA now refuse to allow events in states that permit THIRD-TERM ABORTIONS? Because I think any fair-minded American (a majority) agrees (especially if they know the process involved in a third-term abortion) that it is much more grotesque than a piece of cloth hanging on a pole.

And if I find third-term abortion offensive, based on moral reasons, why shouldn’t Ron and the NCAA promote my opinion for me and the majority of Americans who agree w/ me?

I love the “one-issue trolls” who pop up in threads like this.

Thank goodness I don’t rely on tourists for income. They treat us southerners as if we are so beneath them…..especially those from the northeastern states. I know, I spent a couple of years working at a motel off of I-95 in Florence. Snooty, talk down to the poor hillbilly redneck inbred trash type of libtards need to stay home. the funny thing was that if they had only asked I would have loved to discuss subatomic particle theory with any of them.

You know, part off this story doesn’t ring true to me, for some reason…

It was fairly significant entertainment industry news when a work-print of the upcoming Wolverine film was leaked onto internet torrent sites. The long-term fallout of the leak is still unknown, but for FOX News journalist Roger Friedman, one thing is very clear: reviewing a bootleg copy of a film months before its scheduled release is a one-way ticket to unemployment.

Pretty straight-forward scenario, right? Well, not according to Screen Rant reader “c”, who finds fault with those un-American jerks at…Fox?

well I think this should open up a can of worms for hollywood and monster companies like Fox…

1) they are stealing from the American public. They go to foreign soil(most films are now made in Australia, New Zealand, Vancouver,BC). But they come to USA and charge ungodly box office prices in which we as americans have to pay tax on… why shouldn’t they have to pay import tax on movies and other things an ungodly tax to them and to the actors who work for them…

2) give them a tax break if they film 100% of the movie in local town USA, etc…

If they would support america as americans then maybe they would have more supports/sympathy for matters like these. but for me, i think just like the mp3 is to the music industry, avi is to foriegn hollywood… I lost respect for my favorite actor Nicolas Cage for his making the movie KNowing in land down under portraying NYC… f…ing sux…

note: this is a public attack… heheh not personal…

If Fox and other Studios don’t want to make movies here, move abroad… lose their American status… and see how well the future their box office hits are…

so I support this man… and think fox is stupid not to own up instead hide and fire…

down with fox!

Uh…huh.

It was big news, as it always seem to be, when the Iowa Supreme Court quite sensibly declared that the state’s ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional.

I’m sure you know where we’re going with the rest of this post:

It’s getting harder and harder to quarantine civilization in this country.

How many judges agreed in the unanimous opinion?

Uhm…all of them?

Where are they polygamists, polyandrists etc, isn’t banning that then also unconstitutional? The ones who should be celebrating are the divorce lawyers. I suggest that heterosexual marriages get fixed before rushing into handling unconventional/alternative marriages.

Yes, that’s right, equal rights for gays is just part of a sinister plot by divorce attorneys to get rich.

God has nothing to do with this.

This is a sad day. Hopefully the people of Iowa will take back their state from the vermin in black robes who think the traditional family is obsolete. The legislators in Iowa need to remove those justices who found that homosexual marriage is equivalent to heterosexual marriage. It is not, and never has been, and never will be.

Homosexual marriage is also a threat to the traditional family. It makes a mockery of the institution, which has been the bedrock of all civilization since the beginning of time. It is a sure sign of America’s decadence that gay marriage is being legalized by unelected judges.

What a lousy ruling. By the logic of the Iowa supreme court, equal protection must mean that men and women are interchangeable. By that logic, any law that has a gender specific provision (such as maternity leave) is a violation of equal protection.

Well, yes. Which is why most responsible businesses and states allow men to take “paternity” leave.

There are absolutely no grounds for considering homosexual unions to be in any way similar or even remotely analogous to God’s plan for marriage and family. Marriage is holy, while homosexual acts go against the natural moral law. Homosexual acts close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity.

If you think that, you’re doing it wrong, honey.

Please explain where in the constitution it deals with gay marriage. This was not a problem then and as such was not mentioned in the document. some judges are making thier own interpatation of the constitution. They should read it as written.

All great societies destroy themselves. America is hedonistic and self centered without concern for the real problems this country faces. Sounds like the fall of Rome.

please, when you encourage this madness , don’t bring God into your mouth. what’s left ? allowing pedophilia maybe?? . i can’t beleive it. “too much” freedom. God save us !

Eight pages before pedophilia gets mentioned! I’m amazed, frankly.

If everyone get what they “feel” they should have we end up with anarchy. I love my dog and my dog loves me. Since my dog is able to inherit my estate then why shouldn’t I be able to marry him? Wold that be good for society?

This is a radical departure from what has been considered normal for all of human history. Are we more “enlightened” all of a sudden or?

It is a shame that such so-called intelligent and sophisticated people of this United States can show such ignorance. The animals in nature even act more decent the people! We are not evolving into a superior race of people as the evolutionists theorize, we are actually declining. We rant and rave because we don’t want rules, we want to be free to do what we want to while the rest of the world goes hungry and is dying. We waste our money and resources trying to pass laws under the guise of “freedom of choices” while the rest of the world suffers. Shame on us! We are robbing future “normal” couples of the joy of seeing children born naturally to them. Our choices do affect others and we will be held accountable before God. Yes, it is your choice but it goes against our Creator and even crosses the laws of nature.

Just another activist court legislating from the bench. Where are the strict contructionists when you need them? Am I the only one still fuming about Brown v. Board of Education?

Oh, I hope so…

I am sickened by the positive response to this (but I guess I didn’t expect anything other than that). We have taken a holy union created by God and smeared it in the dirt by allowing this. I encourage those who don’t support this in to take a firm stand and speak out against this. Some of you may label me as a homophobe, but I do not fear gay people – I simply believe it is wrong.

The gay community and their supporters have an agenda and it is making progress. To follow will be legal adoption of marijuana, possibly same for other. Our traditional family unit is disintegrating which has been the strength of this nation.

I…what?

Wow, this close to hunting season; that’s brave.

Is that a death threat against the judges? All class, these people.

i am personally shocked at the unanimous decision by the supreme court. They ought to know that Homosexual marriage is not about the discrimination or hatred to homosexual, but it is stopping the moral dilemma. Those who support homosexual are also supporting promiscuous sexual activity and free love. When the train of our moral rights will be stop falling? How long do we have to wait to see us in Soddom and Gomorrah.During the baby boomers, it was okay to have intercourse with those who you love, today it is okay to have love with same sex. What our next generation will fall into? Polygomy? If our generation supports this kind act, the next generation will be is far worser shape. I do not hate homosexuals, infect I believe they are very good and cordial people. However, people are good & evil and no one knows what will happen when our morality as culture is free falling, which is evil. Those judges are people who only look at one side of opinion and do not look at the other (such as the case in the abortion). They are exact type of people who only look at the law on a base of circumstance.

In today’s Philadelphia Daily News (The People Paper!), columnist Stu “Byko” Bykofsky takes partial credit for a recent initiative by Mayor Michael Nutter to reward straight-A perfect attendance students with seats in the mayor’s box for this season’s Phillies games.

His headline? With Byko-inspired plan, ‘nerds’ are now envied VIPs.

NERRRRDS!

Anyhow, it’s a worthwhile plan and a good idea. Though Bykofsky’s insistence at still calling these kids nerds is a little odd, good for him for putting this out there and for the city for implementing it. I mean, rewarding kids who are doing well is a good thing, right? Well, we’ll see- let’s go to the Philly.com comments. Mr. Squirrelpants? You’re up first-

why are we rewarding kids for being nerds? maybe we can start paying them to sit in their mom’s basements playing videogames, too.

NERRRRDS!

squirrelpants your an idiot.

Mr. Squirrelpants, you have thirty seconds to respond.

i would say someone who doesn’t know the difference between your and you’re is an idiot. go back to the basement with your fellow geeks, i’m sure there’s a star trek re-run on for you to watch.

NERRRRDS!

It is a bad idea to reward someone for doing what they are supposed to be doing in the first place. Whatb this does is teach people to look for more handouts as they get older.

what about students in catholic/private high schools? they’re parents are paying taxes too (probably more than public high school parents). meanwhile, their schools SAVE tax dollars – why aren’t they being awarded for their academic achievements? not to mention the fact that they’re saving the city money, unlike the public school students.

This is a joke. Yeah, way to be racist and prejudiced! Every “bottom dwelling” high schooler is a problem child ON PURPOSE. Right. Many of these kids are in trouble for a reason. Bad parents. Bad influences. poor neighborhoods. yeah, let’s ignore them, and only help those who don’t need help. Way to go Stu you should be so proud. Perfect attendance? Give me a break. Attendance means SQUAT. Half the courses at schools are a waste. And the BRAINY kids that LOVE school don’t need more handouts. This is pathetic.

Great idea to reward high achievers. It’s pretty stupid to reward perfect attendance, though – it means the kid probably came to school when he was at a high risk of transmitting an illness at some point. If too many kids get straight A’s, the reward should go to the upperclassmen. It would certainly be better to give all 600 varsity letters though.

I think this is a good idea, since its an incentive to attend more. I wish they did this when i went to school, tho.. i’d have liked vip tickets. im niche formula

You know, I love that inspirational speech at the end of Revenge of the Nerds, when Anthony Edwards stands up there- “I mean, all our lives we’ve been laughed at and made to feel inferior. And tonight, those bastards, they trashed our house. Why? Cause we’re smart? Cause we look different? Well, we’re not. I’m a niche formula and I’m pretty proud of it.”

At one point or another, we’ve all been a niche formula.

NERRRRRDS!
